Position Overview
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and experienced Intervention Specialist to join a charter school in Columbus, OH, supporting students in 3rd and 4th grades. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in special education, IEP development, and providing specially designed instruction (SDI).
Responsibilities
Develop, write, and maintain compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide required Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) minutes based on student IEPs.
Manage a special education caseload of no more than 16 students.
Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction and interventions.
Provide individualized academic and behavioral support based on student needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
Support an inclusive learning environment for students in grades 3 and 4.
Qualifications
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist/Special Education teaching license.
Previous experience as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education Teacher.
Experience writing and managing IEPs.
Experience providing SDI minutes and monitoring student progress.
Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage a caseload of up to 16 students.
