We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to lead the U.S. Army Student Detachment (USASD) Human Resources Administrative Support contract. This project will provide administrative, human resources, and financial management support services for approximately 1,700 Army students worldwide. This is an on-site position at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, working 40 hours per week between 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

So, what will the Human Resources Specialist at Terrestris do?
The Human Resources Specialist will work on the USASD Human Resources Administrative Support contract, providing human resources, personnel, pay, records, finance, help desk, and travel support for Army students. This position is contingent upon contract award.
What does a typical day look like for a Human Resources Specialist?
You will:
- Process soldier in-processing and out-processing actions, including conducting digital records reviews, building in-processing packets, verifying assignment orders, updating student information in Government systems, and updating the unit personnel tracking database within one business day of arrival or departure.
- Prepare and process personnel actions in IPPS-A, including promotions, awards, reassignments, leave requests, and separations, and prepare and submit required personnel accounting and strength management reports.
- Process and code pay entitlements, special actions, and deductions, including initiating, adjusting, and stopping pay and allowances, processing special duty pay, and managing deductions approved by Government decision authorities.
- Maintain official military personnel records in iPERMS, including uploading assignment orders, promotion orders, award certificates, academic records, and other required documents.
- Operate automated finance systems to manage soldier finance actions, including CEDEMS, CMS, DJMS, DMO, MMPA, CITIBANK Commercial Card systems, and SmartVoucher.
- Operate IPPS-A and iPERMS to manage soldier data and track administrative actions, monitor updates to Finance and HR publications to ensure compliance, and complete mandatory Government-provided training.
- Provide help desk support to the student population, managing and responding to customer inquiries received through email, Microsoft Teams chat, and phone within required response timelines.
- Manage travel for assigned personnel through DTS and ATTRS, including creating authorizations and assisting with travel vouchers for submission to Government approval authorities.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:
- Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support functions.
- Technical aptitude and computer literacy, to include expertise in managing, coordinating, and controlling the execution of assigned tasks.
- Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and manage database systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with standard office software and enterprise databases.
- Organizational skills to maintain regulatory and document compliance.
- Ability to complete required background checks, personal identity verification, installation access screening, and Government information system access requirements.
- Ability to complete Information Assurance awareness training at the beginning of performance and annually thereafter.
