Qualifications & Requirements


Essential Functions of the Role

To be successful in this role, candidates must:

  • Be eligible to provide reimbursable healthcare services and maintain active provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Maintain eligibility to provide patient care services without sanctions, exclusions, or restrictions from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) or the General Services Administration (GSA) exclusion lists.
  • Hold unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate clinical privileges.
  • Possess and maintain prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with authority to prescribe medications commonly used within the scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), maintained throughout employment.
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice or eligibility through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years of cardiology experience preferred.
  • Experience caring for patients in a fast-paced outpatient or hospital-based cardiovascular setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills.

Work Environment

This is a clinical position that requires on-site attendance Monday through Friday. Typical office hours are between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM, depending on clinic and patient care needs.

The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional cardiovascular care while supporting a positive patient experience.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate medical and office equipment.
  • Reach, bend, and move as necessary to provide patient care.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Maintain the mobility and stamina necessary to perform clinical duties safely and effectively.
