Position Summary: 

The E-Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of E-Crane equipment used in marine terminal operations. This role supports vessel unloading and bulk material handling by operating specialized crane systems with a high degree of precision and situational awareness. The E-Crane Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency while ensuring strict adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate E-Crane equipment to load, unload, and transfer bulk materials and cargo efficiently and safely.
  • Execute material handling operations in accordance with operational plans, production goals, and equipment capabilities.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in safe and proper working condition.
  • Monitor crane performance, identify operational issues, and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Coordinate with ground crews, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient workflow and safe operations.
  • Maintain consistent communication during operations to ensure proper coordination of material movement.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, production records, and inspection documentation.
  • Adjust operations based on changing site conditions, material flow, or vessel loading/unloading requirements.
  • Support general terminal operations and assist with related activities as needed.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience operating heavy equipment in port, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Ability to safely operate complex equipment and maintain high levels of situational awareness.
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety practices and operational procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Experience:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to obtain.
  • Experience operating E-Crane or similar pedestal-mounted crane systems.
  • Experience working in marine terminal or port environments.
  • Familiarity with bulk material handling and vessel unloading operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, climb, and operate crane equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Required use of PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel‑toe boots) in operational areas.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role at marine terminals and port facilities.
  • Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment requiring strong situational awareness and communication.
  • Work schedules may include shift work, extended hours, weekends, and overtime based on operational demands.
