The College of Education is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position for Education Generalist. The teaching assignment will include Education Generalist courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. There is the possibility of teaching on-line, on ground and off campus courses. Position is scheduled to begin July 30, 2027.
The College of Education at Austin Peay State University provides teacher training in an environment that provides opportunities for students and faculty to work and learn together. Small classes provide opportunities for students and faculty to establish relationships that will last throughout a student’s academic career. Teaching and advising are valued skills and weighed equally with research in the evaluation process.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
-Teach education courses in the general education curriculum (i.e. foundations of education, classroom management, etc) with preferred teaching experience in educational psychology and/or science education and/or assessment and/or instructional technology.  
-Mentor pre-service teacher candidates who are seeking a professional teaching license.  
-Serve on COE committees.
-Active engagement in research and scholarly presentations of research.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred educational coursework and teaching experience in educational psychology and/or science education and/or assessment and/or instructional technology
 
Required Minimum Qualifications
-An earned doctorate/terminal degree in the field of Education
-Demonstrated record of, or potential for, scholarship and publication
-A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in preK-12 public education in the U.S. is required.
-Evidence of excellence in teaching, potential for scholarly research, achievement in professional endeavors, interpersonal skills, sensitivity to diversity, and ability to relate to local constituencies.
-A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
