TITLE: Mechanical Technician B

 

POSTION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for lubrication, preventative maintenance, and repair for all equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime as needed, including on-call availability for nights and weekends as required
  • Electrical background is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Skilled in operating lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment is a plus
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interaction

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical equipment
  • Perform lubrication and preventative maintenance (PM) on mechanical equipment
  • Assist the Electronic Technician with electrical and electronic duties
  • Perform welding, machining, and millwright duties
  • Assemble and install new mechanical equipment; enter work orders in the maintenance management system; read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Maintain all equipment in good running order; perform route checks and report deficiencies
  • Ensure the job site is clean and free of hazards; follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Perform other duties as required
