Role Overview

The Payment Risk & AR Analyst safeguards revenue and mitigates financial exposure across high-volume B2C credit card processing workflows. Sitting within the Finance team, this role combines payment fraud detection, Accounts Receivable analysis, Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, and basic digital payment security to ensure seamless transaction processing and minimal loss.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fraud Prevention & Security: Monitor real-time credit card transaction flows to detect fraudulent activity, card testing, and account takeovers. Assist in maintaining basic cybersecurity protocols and compliance across payment touchpoints.
  • Dispute & Chargeback Management: Oversee end-to-end chargeback disputes, build evidence packages for representments, and maintain chargeback and fraud ratios below payment network thresholds.
  • AR & Payment Reconciliation: Perform credit card settlement reconciliations, investigate payment declines/chargebacks, analyze DSO, and track outstanding receivables.
  • BI & Data Analytics: Design and maintain BI dashboards to report on key metrics—such as authorization approval rates, fraud loss rates, dispute win rates, and processor fee trends—to Finance leadership.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with Customer Support to handle escalations and coordinate with IT as needed.

Qualifications

  • Some college, degree is not necessary.
  • 2–4 years of experience in high-volume B2C e-commerce, card payment operations, or AR risk analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) for financial visualization and data reporting (no SQL required) along with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit card processing, payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Braintree), and merchant chargeback portals.
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles related to e-commerce payments (PCI compliance, tokenization, credential stuffing awareness).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
