Great Northern – Chippewa Falls is seeking an Inventory Control Lead to join our growing manufacturing team! Are you ready to make a difference?

HOURS

The hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Responsible for leading daily inventory control activities to ensure inventory accuracy, integrity, and availability across all facilities.  Coordinates cycle counting, investigates inventory discrepancies, provides training and direction to inventory personnel, and serves as a key resource for inventory reporting and customer inventory requirements. Utilizes system-generated data to identify, analyze and record inventory metrics. Demonstrates effective leadership while performing inventory control duties in accordance with Great Northern quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  1. Leads daily inventory control activities, prioritizes workload, and coordinates inventory-related tasks across fulfillment.
  2. Analyzes inventory metrics and historical data to identify operational bottlenecks, best practices and implement continuous process improvements.
  3. Oversees and performs cycle count programs to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  4. Investigates inventory discrepancies, identifies root causes, implements corrective actions, and monitors resolution effectiveness.
  5. Serves as the primary point of contact for inventory issues, providing guidance and support to team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  6. Assists in training and onboarding inventory personnel on inventory control processes, systems, and best practices.
  7. Monitors inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, shipments, and inventory movements to ensure accuracy.
  8. Coordinates and verifies customer-supplied inventory, including receipt, identification, tracking, storage, reporting, and disposition.
  9. Generates, analyzes, and distributes inventory reports for internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  10. Maintains inventory records in company and customer inventory management systems.
  11. Assists with month-end inventory activities, including reconciliation, reporting, audits, and physical inventory counts.
  12. Collaborates with Account Coordinators, Sales, Production, Distribution, and Scheduling personnel to resolve inventory issues and support customer needs.
  13. Supports internal and external inventory audits and ensures compliance with customer and company inventory requirements.
  14. Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends solutions to improve inventory accuracy, efficiency, and service levels.
  15. Coordinates inventory-related activities between fulfillment locations and provides regular communication regarding inventory status and concerns.
  16. Assists with quality inspections, product identification, retagging, and inventory organization activities as needed.
  17. Operates material handling equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts and electric pallet jack, following company training and certification requirements.
  18. Maintains confidentiality of customer inventory information and proprietary business data.
  19. Regular and reliable attendance.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Individual must possess: High school diploma or equivalency required; Associate degree preferred.  Minimum of three or more years inventory control, warehouse, logistics or distribution experience preferred.  Demonstrated ability to lead work activities and provide direction to others.  Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals, and percentages; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; ability to solve problems; capable of dealing with deadline pressures.
