Division Information

Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks. Kenworth is an industry leader in providing fuel-saving technology solutions that help increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The company’s dedication to the green fleet includes aerodynamic trucks, compressed and liquefied natural gas trucks, and medium duty diesel-electric hybrids.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Lead the Cost Accounting Team
•    Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals
•    Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
•    Drive talent development through coaching, cross-training, succession planning, and recruitment
Drive Financial and Operational Excellence
•    Ensure accurate cost standards, cost factors, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
•    Identify cost reduction opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability
•    Partner with operations teams to support business objectives
Manage Reporting and Month-End Close
•    Oversee month-end cost accounting activities, including journal entry reviews and account reconciliations
•    Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
•    Analyze manufacturing results and communicate key insights to leadership
Strengthen Controls and Compliance
•    Lead largescale physical inventory activities 
•    Supervise build station audits 
•    Support SOX compliance and testing requirements
Support Strategic Initiatives
•    Participate in plant projects, system implementations, facility changes, and operational improvement initiatives
•    Collaborate across functions to optimize processes and enhance financial performance
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting
•    CPA, CMA, or MBA required
•    5 to 10 years of accounting experience
•    Strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting
•    Previous leadership or people management experience
Preferred Skills
•    SAP experience
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
•    Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
•    Ability to influence across organizational levels and communicate complex financial information clearly

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA, CMA or MBA required.
