About the Role

Introduction

The Security Construction Manager manages the security and telecom electrical team and its information from start to finish on large hi-tech projects, leading onsite electrical quality control efforts from preconstruction document review through commissioning and punch list. This role works closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex low voltage coordination issues across access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and related telecom systems, and is on the front line of avoiding and solving the technical problems that arise. This position is fully onsite at the project in Childress, TX.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of electrical construction experience, including security, telecom, or structured cabling scopes, with specific experience on industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor projects.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Thorough understanding of all aspects of telecom and security systems electrical construction, including the ability to interpret construction documents, control sequences, and technical manuals.

• Able to work fully onsite in Childress, TX, ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment, access all areas and levels of an active construction site, pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and work in the United States without sponsorship. A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred

• Access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and structured cabling experience on mission-critical or hi-tech fabrication projects.

• Experience working in a live high-tech facility and in and around cleanroom environments.

• Experience estimating low voltage electrical budgets, securing subcontractor and equipment buyout, and managing contracts and contract modifications.

• Familiarity with low voltage distribution, UPS equipment, and electrical installations on large mechanical and process equipment.

• Education background in materials and methods of construction.

• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and field practices.

• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a strong understanding of working within a computer network.

• Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).

• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.

• Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with Construction Specifications Institutes (CSI) MasterFormat.

• Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.

• Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.

• Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.

• Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.

• Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee telecom and security systems electrical subcontractor and vendor installation work daily to ensure they are maintaining their installation schedule, and support system startup and commissioning activities.

• Verify all documentation is complete and equipment being prepared for startup is construction complete and can be safely started.

• Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.

• Interpret construction documents, control sequences, and technical manuals.

• Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various systems.

• Receive and distribute requests for information (RFI) and change documents issued by other team members.

• Conduct field surveying layout of control lines and benchmarks.

• Organize and facilitate training of the client's personnel in the operations and maintenance of the systems.

• Organize, ensure completion of, and file record documents.

• Assist in estimating telecom and security systems electrical budgets, secure subcontractor and equipment buyout, and manage subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.

• Oversee billing and schedules of values for telecom and security systems electrical subcontractors and vendors, and assist with managing team project staffing.

• Write and publish meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activity checklists, and serve as the technical advisor at the onsite field construction office.

• Provide status, risk, and mitigation updates to CBC leadership and the client.

$175,000-$225,000
