In this role, you will lead commissioning coordination and serve as a key client-facing representative throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with the Owner, Commissioning Agent (CxA), project management, construction, engineering, quality, safety, subcontractors, and vendors to drive commissioning readiness, testing, issue resolution, and successful turnover.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead commissioning activities and serve as a primary client-facing point of contact for commissioning throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Owner, Owner’s Representative, CxA, design team, and key project stakeholders.
  • Communicate commissioning status, milestones, system readiness, risks, issues, and recovery plans to project leadership and the client.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Superintendents, Engineering, Quality, Safety, subcontractors, and vendors to support commissioning requirements and project milestones.
  • Drive commissioning issues, deficiencies, client concerns, escalations, and commitments through timely resolution and closure.
  • Monitor construction and commissioning milestones to ensure systems are progressing toward startup, testing, and turnover requirements.
  • Coordinate commissioning readiness, functional testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), punch list, turnover, closeout, and operational readiness activities.
  • Identify commissioning and client-impacting risks early and coordinate mitigation or recovery plans with the appropriate project teams.
  • Track commissioning progress, open issues, client feedback, recurring challenges, and actions requiring project team support.
  • Promote accountability, transparency, responsiveness, quality, and continuous improvement throughout commissioning execution.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

 

Skills Required:

 

  • Strong experience managing commissioning activities on large-scale data center, mission-critical, industrial, or advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes, including system readiness, startup, functional performance testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), turnover, and closeout.
  • Experience coordinating Commissioning Agents, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, construction teams, and Owners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage commissioning schedules, technical issues, deficiencies, risks, and project milestones.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage expectations, escalations, and commitments.
  • Ability to communicate technical commissioning information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Education / Licenses / Certifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Commissioning or project management certification preferred.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
