Description

Risk Manager will ensure that Haymarket Center identifies and mitigates clinical and operational risks that might jeopardize its mission.  Position is expected to function as a wide angle lens for the Director of Quality Assurance, collecting risk information from clinical and business units in order to determine priority risks and develop plans to mitigate, remove or avoid those risks. 


The Risk Manager will be the point person for Haymarket's Emergency Management Program and will oversee the incident reporting and analysis program as well. The Risk Manager will provide operational support to the Risk Management Program. The Risk Manager will also recognize the importance of staff training to mitigate risks and sustain improvements, and will provide support to Haymarket's training program and will help to expand that program through development of a training library and internal communications systems.


Essential Functions will include;


Assist in maintaining Haymarket Center policies and procedures to include updating exisitng policies and creating new policies and procedures as needed. Assist Director of QA in developing new or revised policies and procedures and preparing them for board approval.


Assist in preparation, management and follow-up for accreditation surveys including CARF, HRSA, DBHR Rule 132, CCBHC and others. Assist in regular reporting to accreditors and other regulators. 


Maintain Haymarket Center linkage agreements by keeping them signed, up to date and organized. 


Manage the Incident Report program. Ensure reports are collected, analyzed and summarized to identify trends, common causes and action items to prevent reoccurence. Train staff regularly on incident reporting process.


Manage the HC Emergency Management Program. Maintain plans for disaster scenarios based on expert guidance and ensure HC Emergency Response Team/ERT's are staffed and trained on thier duties. Assist in conducting disaster drills. Collect and analyze drill reports search of improvement. 


Assist in preparing HC annual Risk Management Plan and updating a living risk inventory in real time. Assist Director of QA with committee support functions and leading risk management projects to address to address annual goals identified in Risk Management Plan.


Conduct quarterly risk assessments required by FTCA and other regulators. 


Manage HC RegLantern compliance software to maintain continuous compliance with HRSA and FTCA requirements, ensuring that Haymarket Center is always prepared for a site visit. 


Coordinate with Director of HR and the VP of Strategic Iniatives to ensure staff compliance with all required trainings at time of hire and designated intervals thereafter.


Perform other duties as assigned. 


 



Requirements

Education, Work and Skills Required;


Masters degree in Human Services or related field; licensed preferred (LPC/LCPC);


Five years or more work experience in the field of Human Services working in a human services agency. Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management methods preferred.


Familiarity with Administrative Code Part 132, 140, 2030, 2060, 2090 and CARF Behavioral Health Standards. Familiar with Health Center Program Standards as set forth by HRSA and CCBHC standards as set down by the State of Illinois and SAMHSA. Familiarity with Federal TORT Claims Act and dental risk management preferred. Will consider familiarity with standards of The Joint Commission;


Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem solving skills;


Relates well with others;


Good writing & analytical skills; 


Knowledge of computers;


Demonstrate ability to interpret rules, standards and guidelines;


Must be detail oriented and demonstrate proficient written and verbal skills;


Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
