Position/Project Overview:
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Representative to provide tto provide construction management oversight, inspection, coordination, reporting, and contract administration services for the NERI 326119 Remove Historic Structures project at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, West Virginia.
This role is contingent upon award of project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor construction, demolition, and site restoration activities to verify compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and applicable standards
- Perform field observations and inspections of contractor work at project sites located throughout New River Gorge National Park and Preserve
- Prepare and maintain daily reports, project documentation, records, and correspondence related to construction progress and project activities
- Review contractor schedules, submittals, cost proposals, change requests, and payment applications, and provide recommendations to the Government
- Coordinate and communicate with contractors, National Park Service personnel, and other project stakeholders regarding project status, progress, and issues
- Attend project meetings and monitor project progress against the approved schedule, identifying and documenting issues that affect performance
- Provide oversight of demolition and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) abatement activities associated with the removal of historic structures
- Support project closeout activities, including verification that contract requirements have been completed and that project documentation is properly maintained
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills
Education/Certification:
- No specific degree or educational qualification is required for this position.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training is required
Experience:
- Experience providing construction management, construction inspection, or on-site project oversight services on construction projects
- Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and project requirements
- Experience monitoring contractor performance and verifying compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, and construction standards
- Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation, inspection records, progress reports, and construction correspondence
- Experience evaluating or reviewing project schedules, cost proposals, change requests, and contractor payment applications
- Experience coordinating and communicating with contractors, project stakeholders, and Government representatives during project execution
- Experience with demolition projects and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) abatement activities
- Experience supporting project closeout activities and verifying completion of contract requirements and project deliverables
Key Attributes & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and construction administration practices
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes, construction standards, and safety regulations in support of project oversight
- Proficiency in reviewing and evaluating project schedules, cost proposals, change requests, and contractor payment applications
- Strong inspection and documentation skills, including the ability to prepare daily reports, project records, and construction-related correspondence
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with contractors, National Park Service personnel, and other project stakeholders
- Ability to monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and safety requirements
- Knowledge of and experience with demolition and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) abatement activities
- Ability to safely navigate active construction sites, including areas with steep slopes, stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain encountered throughout the project sites
