Pay: $25.72 per hour

Work schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Make a difference! Operated by the Management & Training Corporation, the Otero County Processing Facility in Chaparral, New Mexico, provides a safe working environment and the opportunity to help an underserved population. 

What you’ll do:  You’ll ensure facility review of mandated systems in copliance with MTC and customer directives. 

Essential Functions:  

  1. Establish periodic and annual reviews of each department, ensuring compliance with MTC and ICE directives. Develop programs to comply with ACA accreditation requirements.
  2. Develop policies and procedures for facility compliance.
  3. Ensure facility operations are in compliance with all applicable laws and agency policy. This regular self-monitoring will be separate from any other inspections conducted by other agencies.
  4. Ensure that quarterly reports on the facility’s activities are provided to Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and MTC Corporate Office.
  5. Develop the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures. Review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
  6. Ensure that the facility has the staff needed to provide full coverage of designated security posts, full surveillance of detainees, and to perform all auxiliary functions.
  7. Conduct regular reviews and inspections to ensure facility operations and programs are compliant with all applicable laws and policies which requires long periods of walking and standing.
  8. Develop and maintain an overall quality control system.
  9. Develop and maintain an accountability system for the submittal of required audit documents.
  10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
  11. Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years correctional custody or law enforcement experience required. One (1) of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Experience in accreditation preparation preferred. Must successfully complete required pre-service training. Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
