General Purpose:

Provide professional, courteous, and efficient transportation for the members of Judson Park both on and off campus.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Maintain a schedule of transportation needs of the members Judson Park.

•    Work closely with Security and Program Coordinator to ensure appropriate transportation for events.

•    Publish weekly trip sign-up sheets.

•    Ensure members are picked-up and dropped-off on time as scheduled.

•    Ensure the appropriate vehicle is used based on the number of passengers.

•    Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles.

•    Follow all motor vehicle laws to ensure the safety of the passengers.

•    Recommend changes to the transportation schedule in the event of a scheduling conflict.

•    Flexibility to provide daytime, evening and weekend hours as needed.   

•    Serve as Security Guard as needed.

•    Enjoys socializing with members such as making conversation with a member who is waiting for the other passengers to enter the bus.

•    Conveys a sense of understanding and regard for other people’s feelings, especially with individuals who have physical or cognitive impairments.

•    Exemplifies the highest level of customer service.   For example: greets members and visitors with a smile and a positive attitude; calls members by Mr. or Mrs.; uses a member’s first name only if it has been requested;      and responds to members’ needs with a sense of urgency.  

•    Provides honest and open communication with members, managers, and coworkers.

•    Works as a team player with all departments.

•    Willing to pitch in to complete a task even when it’s outside of the job description.

•    Attention to quality and detail of work such as in coordination of transportation during a special event.

•    Highest regard for personal appearance: uniform, hair, and nails are neat and clean.

•    Strong communication, oral, written, and listening skills. 

 

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:  

•    High school diploma or GED. 

•    Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. 

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass physical examination upon employment and periodically thereafter if so required.  Have no handicaps which would preclude the performance of the essential functions outlined in this job description.

Physical demands may include kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching, pushing, manipulating stairs, talking, hearing, standing for extended periods, crouching, stooping, walking, lifting a minimum of 60 pounds, and repetitive motion. 

Working Conditions:

Controlled climate and all types of weather.  Must be able to tolerate working conditions consistent with duties outlined in this job description; e.g. reasonable noise levels, dust and other particulate matter, exposure to a variety of cleaning chemicals and odors, and an environment that supports animal life.
