Solve Problems. Take Pride in the Work You Can See. Are you the person who notices what needs to be fixed—and knows how to get it done? The Affordable Housing Network is looking for a hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Lead who brings strong maintenance skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to quality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is ready to provide leadership while still being actively involved in day-to-day maintenance and facility needs. From preventative maintenance and building repairs to inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and special projects, no two days will look exactly the same. What You'll Do As the Maintenance & Facilities Lead, you'll work closely with the Facilities Manager to keep our properties, equipment, and systems safe, functional, and well maintained. You'll also provide guidance and support to other team members while helping coordinate ongoing maintenance needs and projects. Your responsibilities will include: Perform routine preventative maintenance on facilities, vehicles, equipment, and building systems. Complete and assist with city, housing, HUD, compliance, and other required inspections. Inspect completed projects to ensure work meets quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement. Troubleshoot and complete general building repairs and maintenance. Maintain and repair building systems, including heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical. Pick up and deliver donations, materials, equipment, and supplies as needed. Maintain current supplier, vendor, and system repair contact information. Track purchases, provide receipts, and reconcile invoices with delivered materials. More Than Maintaining Buildings The work you do in this position matters. A repaired heating system, a safe entryway, a well-maintained apartment, or a problem caught during an inspection isn't just another item checked off a list—it helps provide a safe and reliable home for someone in our community. Who Are We? At the Affordable Housing Network, we are committed to providing quality, affordable housing throughout the Cedar Rapids area. We work to create healthy and vibrant communities by connecting residents with housing and services that meet the needs of a diverse population, including families with children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Bring your skills. Lead by example. Help us create homes people can be proud of.
