About the role
Seeking a Corporate Controller to own the company’s accounting operations as we scale manufacturing of our vehicles. Reporting to the CFO, this leader will run the monthly close, own cost and inventory accounting, strengthen internal controls, drive process improvement, and prepare the accounting organization to support external and SEC reporting requirements.Â
What you'll do
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close, delivering timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAPÂ
- Own cost and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations, including standard costing, variance analysis, BOM and WIP valuation, and inventory controlsÂ
- Manage the general ledger, technical accounting, and preparation of consolidated financial statementsÂ
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls; support external audits and prepare the organization for SOX readinessÂ
- Drive process improvement and automation across accounting operations to scale with company growthÂ
- Support external financial reporting, including SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) as the company maturesÂ
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and manufacturing to inform business decisionsÂ
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting teamÂ
Qualifications
- Active CPA license requiredÂ
- Progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on cost and inventory accountingÂ
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated ownership of the accounting closeÂ
- Proven track record of process improvement and building scalable accounting operationsÂ
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience in the mobility space (automotive, motorcycle, EV, or related)Â
- SEC reporting experience (10-Q, 10-K)Â
- ERP or financial system implementation experienceÂ
- CMA and/or a Master’s/MBAÂ
Team StructureÂ
- Leadership role reporting to the CFO; manages the accounting team and collaborates closely with FP&A, operations, and manufacturingÂ
Required Experience
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing and cost/inventory accounting, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience; public accounting background preferredÂ
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. Master’s degree or MBA a plus.Â
