As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will own projects from concept through startup, including developing project scopes, preparing funding requests, specifying and procuring equipment, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating contractors, and supporting installation and commissioning. You'll partner closely with plant Engineering and Maintenance, Operations, EH&S, and leadership to identify technical challenges and deliver practical solutions that improve manufacturing capabilities.

You'll apply your mechanical engineering expertise to a wide range of industrial projects involving manufacturing equipment, utilities, piping, instrumentation, temperature control systems, and mechanical systems. You'll also troubleshoot existing equipment, evaluate vendor proposals, develop equipment and installation specifications, and provide technical support and training to plant personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital projects from initial concept and scope development through installation, commissioning, and startup
  • Specify, evaluate, and procure manufacturing and process equipment
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, funding requests, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, plant maintenance, and engineering resources during project execution
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems and develop effective solutions
  • Develop equipment specifications, RFQs, and installation requirements
  • Build strong partnerships with plant teams and equipment suppliers
  • Provide technical guidance and training to Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and EH&S teams
  • Travel to CCM facilities to support project planning, equipment installation, startups, commissioning, and training

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing experience in a mechanical engineering capacity
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment, construction, piping, utilities, and mechanical systems
  • Strong project management, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

This role is approximately 75% office-based and 25% travel. If you're ready to take ownership of major capital projects and see your engineering work come to life on the manufacturing floor, we'd love to hear from you.
