At Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri, we believe employment is more than a paycheck—it’s purpose, independence, and confidence.

As an Employment Specialist, you’ll help individuals with barriers to employment find meaningful work, build relationships with local employers, and support people as they take real steps forward in their lives.

This role is perfect for someone who doesn’t want to sit behind a desk all day—you’ll spend the majority of your time out in the community, making connections and creating opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

  • Support a caseload of up to 30 individuals actively seeking and maintaining employment while helping them identify goals, strengths, and opportunities
  • Connect with local employers weekly to develop job opportunities tailored to your clients
  • Spend ~60–65% of your time in the community (job sites, resource fairs, partnership offices/meetings, etc.)
  • Provide ongoing support to help clients maintain continuous employment for 6 months.
  • Document services and progress in a timely and organized way

What Success Looks Like

  • You’re consistently building employer relationships and uncovering new opportunities
  • Your clients are gaining employment and maintaining it
  • You’re responsive, organized, and proactive in your approach
  • You can manage your time independently and follow through on commitments

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, ownership, and heart to their work.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Are self-motivated and can manage your schedule without constant oversight
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enjoy being out in the community and networking with others
  • Are reliable, organized, and follow through on what you start
  • Have experience in mental health, social services, case management, or workforce development
  • Are solution-oriented and able to navigate challenges creatively

What You’ll Get

  • A dynamic, community-based role (not stuck at a desk)
  • Hands-on experience in case management, employment services, and mental health support
  • A team that values collaboration, support, and doing the right thing

A Few Key Expectations

  • Maintain an active caseload and meet employment placement goals
  • Conduct regular employer outreach (minimum weekly benchmarks)
  • Provide timely follow-up and documentation (within 24 hours)
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and ongoing collaboration
