Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading warehouse and shipping operations to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of finished goods, packaging materials, and inventory. This role oversees warehouse personnel, loadout activities, inventory control, customer shipments, and compliance with food safety, quality, and company standards.

The successful candidate will provide daily leadership to warehouse employees, drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure on-time delivery performance while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse employees.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide training and corrective coaching when needed.
  • Promote a positive and accountable work environment.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels to meet operational demands.

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and loadout execution.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation schedules.
  • Monitor warehouse workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies and inventory issues.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and inventory management practices.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to manage inventory holds and product releases.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
  • Conduct safety observations and participate in incident investigations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for warehouse activities.
  • Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve warehouse performance.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of warehouse, logistics, distribution, or shipping experience.
  • 1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or dairy manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supervising warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience is a plus but not required.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle count programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
