Responsibilities

Responsible for logging and tracking all research requests; maintaining spreadsheets; providing assistance in processing research requests; the completion of verification of customer accounts for various agencies and, providing assistance to branch representatives through phone and email.

  • Research and complete all ACH (Automated Clearing House) research
  • Research all ACH Reg. E's
  • Record all completed research using monthly spreadsheets, and distribute to appropriate staff
  • Process research requests for photocopies, statements, IRA, 1099 Statements, CD, ACH issues
  • Provide staff with listing of open research
  • Prepare monthly breakdown of research
  • Assist with improper endorsements and altered checks
  • Provide backup for ACH Research Clerk
  • Process monetary adjustments to customer accounts including GL (General Ledger) tickets and back up documentation for processing adjustments through the Federal Reserve Bank
  • Process verification of customer account balances including:
    • Social Security
    • Housing Agencies
    • Standard business references
  • Process electronic asset verification requests from Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare
  • Responsible for maintaining a daily log, as well as, monthly and yearly of verification requests
  • Cooperate with other members of the department to achieve departmental goals and provide quality customer service.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associates Degree in related field preferred.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills: 

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematical skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Must be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational and data entry skills.

Experience: 

  • At least one year of office-related experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a banking environment.

Other Job Information

Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday 8:00 - 4:30)

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
