Job DetailsJob Location: Campbellsburg, IN 47108The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production activities within their assigned departments to ensure the safe, efficient, and quality-driven manufacture of products. This position provides daily leadership and direction to floor leads and production employees, coordinating resources and personnel to achieve production, quality, delivery, and safety objectives. Responsibilities include executing leadership standard work, including employee coaching and development, performance management, floor audits, shift communication, process verification, and continuous improvement activities. This position performs administrative duties including performance evaluations, attendance management, productivity and efficiency tracking, scrap analysis, and reporting. This position regularly audits production processes and work practices throughout the facility to ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and quality requirements. The incumbent promotes a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides day-to-day direction and leadership to department leads and employees. Plans and delegates workloads to production supervisors and adjust assignments as necessary. Communicate daily to manager the following: Any information necessary to ensure product quality and delivery Suggestions for training, documentation, or standards to ensure employee competence, morale, safety, and productivity Significant events during the absence of first shift management Continually reviews standards of job performance and works with employees to improve performance and safety. Provides employees with feedback regarding performance with a focus on positive reinforcement, employee recognition, and employee career development. Maintains a visible leadership presence within assigned departments by routinely engaging employees, conducting floor audits, verifying adherence to standard work, removing barriers to performance, and providing coaching, recognition, and corrective feedback as necessary. Pursues continuous improvement by developing, implementing, and supporting solutions/ strategies to increase productivity, reduce scrap, and improve the operation. Work in concert with Setup personnel, Operations, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure that all products manufactured in the Press Department conform to the highest quality standards. Assist Quality Assurance and Engineering to disposition non-conforming product. Communicate with Maintenance and Engineering to keep equipment in a condition to produce quality product at acceptable production levels. Conducts employee communication “toolbox” meetings and conducts employee training, including but not limited to MPP Roots whenever necessary. Review, approve and manage employee time and attendance records; address discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies. Serves on and leads teams within their respective site to solve problems or improve performance, safety on time delivery and output. Actively works to improve employee morale and address employee concerns. Maintains an organized, safe, and visually controlled work environment consistent with 5S standards. Administers Company Policies and Procedures. Addresses and issues employee discipline as needed. Communicates with the necessary people to keep current all work instructions, means of written communication and other documentation in the department. Orders department supplies and communicates needs to the purchasing manger. Scheduling department work, communication with management team and team members to provide accurate delivery dates and improve on time delivery. Works with department managers to complete required performance appraisals on employees and communicates with employees their performance. Prepares reports and presentations as required. Represent MPP in a positive and professional manner. Works as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow employees in a cooperative, constructive manner. Duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing, engineering, business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including direct supervision of production employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and manufacturing ERP systems. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma. Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team development skills. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Frequent walking, standing, and sitting in both office and manufacturing environments. Occasional lifting and movement of materials, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with all safety requirements. Visual acuity required for inspections, monitoring production processes, and reviewing documentation. Occasional bending, squatting, reaching, climbing stairs, and twisting may be required. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, temperature variations, and airborne particulates. Ability to analyze information, solve problems, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and management personnel. Non-standard and off-shift hours may be required to support business needs. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment within assigned departments. Participate in and support safety training, risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations. Utilize and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other required equipment. Identify, report, and promptly address unsafe conditions, behaviors, and work practices. Ensure employees understand and follow established safety procedures and safe work practices. Lead by example in demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
