Position Overview:

The Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to leaders across the organization, providing guidance and support across a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, and talent development. This role works closely with business leaders to assess organizational needs, coach and influence decision-making, and implement strategies that support the company's growth and evolving business objectives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the position plays a key role in scaling and strengthening Human Resources programs, processes, and practices while fostering a high-performing, employee-centered culture. The Senior Director will partner with leaders and employees to drive effective organizational outcomes, manage complex employee matters, support change management initiatives, and enhance workforce effectiveness. The role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with execution and contribute to the continued development of people-focused practices and programs.   

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a hands-on, strategic partner to the business while designing and implementing HR strategy including people policies and programs.
  • Lead HR strategy for large, complex business areas to build and support Beam’s culture and short and long-term business goals and objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Beam’s business strategies, plans and programs and how we work so that you can provide strategic HR partnership to the business leaders and the teams you support, ensuring positive employee experience.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to executives and people leaders to enhance leadership effectiveness and team performance.
  • Build leadership capability through cultivating a culture of feedback & learning, development planning and overall talent growth and development.
  • Provide strategic and day-to-day best in class performance management guidance to business leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, talent development, disciplinary actions).
  • Collaborate with other HR Business Partners and HR colleagues & business leaders to develop and implement programs and policies aligned to Beam’s culture and values that attract, engage, retain and develop team members.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and provide expert guidance on employee relations matters and conflict resolution ensuring compliance with employment laws, company policies and Beam’s values & standards while mitigating risk and driving fair, balanced and consistent outcomes.
  • Partner closely with the broader business operations teams internally (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations, Communications, etc.) to ensure our programs, processes, and systems align with our business goals and manage risk appropriately.
  • Seek out and analyze trends and metrics in collaboration with the broader HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Lead cross-functional HR initiatives & projects.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience, including significant HR Business Partner experience supporting complex organizations, such as Commercial.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced commercial stage environment.
  • Consistently embody and role model Beam’s company values & leadership behaviors.
  • Proven ability to develop high levels of credibility and strong relationships with internal and external partners and vendors.
  • Willingness to proactively identify issues and opportunities in the business and make the appropriate recommendations, and/or take appropriate action to get things done.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to research and analyze data drawn from multiple sources to make effective recommendations.
  • High energy level, enthusiastic, positive, upbeat, “can-do” attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exemplary communication ability, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Effective coaching skills to develop senior leaders and improve business performance.
  • Experience in managing complex employee relations.

The salary range below reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, scope of job, internal comparisons, and market data.
