Overview of Position:

Administers skilled direct and indirect patient care to an assigned group of patients according to the patient’s plan of care under the direction of the physician. Provides clinical leadership to other clinical support staff within the practice Adheres to universal precautions and is compliant with infection control policies. Carries out job requirements as delegated by and with the supervision of a physician (or registered nurse).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Patient Care
1    Provides patient care, under the direction of the physician, in a warm and friendly manner.
2    Accurately takes and records measurements or readings.
3    Administers prescribed medications.
4    Coordinates admission, discharge, and transfer process.
5    Provides leadership while working collaboratively with other care givers on the unit and within the health system.
Operational & Workflow Improvement
1    Collaborate with the Practice/Office Manager to identify and implement process improvements in clinical workflows.
2    Monitor and evaluate clinical operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality of care.
3    Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and management to streamline communication and workflow optimization.
Human Resources Support
1    Address HR concerns such as attendance, tardiness, and interpersonal/teamwork issues.
2    Document and escalate recurring concerns to the Practice/Office Manager as needed.
3    Promote a positive and professional work environment through coaching and support.
Staff Scheduling & Coverage
1    Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts.
2    Coordinate coverage for planned and unplanned absences, including sick calls and PTO.
3    Communicate scheduling changes promptly and effectively to all relevant staff.
Training & Competency
1    Facilitate onboarding and training of new clinical staff, ensuring completion of required competencies.
2    Organize ongoing training and competency assessments for existing staff.
3    Maintain accurate records of training completion and competency evaluations.
Performance Management
1    Assist the Practice/Office Manager in preparing and conducting annual performance reviews.
2    Provide input on staff performance based on direct observation and feedback.
3    Support staff development through goal setting and performance improvement plans.


QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Current Ohio LPN license.
2.    Two years previous experience.
3.    Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of orientation.
4.    Completion of an approved pharmacology course.
5.    Ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written manner, as well as the ability to observe, assess, guide, and evaluate others.
6.    Ability to collect data, interpret findings, set priorities and carry out established plan.
7.    Ability to read, calculate, and prepare medication, as well as the ability to observe and analyze any resulting reactions and to apply clinical knowledge.

• Exits patient/customer encounters courteously, asking if there are additional needs that can be addressed.
3.    Promotes Patient and Employee Safety 
• Demonstrates safe Patient Handling (i.e. transfers, transport, care administration, nutrition, medication, etc.) 
• Demonstrates safe Materials Handling (i.e. appropriate use and disposal of chemicals, infectious wastes, etc.)
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of Infectious Disease precautions and use of proper protective equipment
• Demonstrates Slips/Trips and Falls Awareness.
• Actively contributes to maintaining a safe, clean and quiet environment.

1.    May work in an environment with exposure to potentially dangerous/infectious materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions that may include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).  
2.    Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate. 
3.    Ability to sit, stand, stoop, push, pull, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
4.    Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level
