Job Summary:
The Rebar Fabricator Crewmember is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC-controlled rebar fabrication equipment to produce reinforcing steel according to customer specifications, bar lists, and production schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates CNC rebar fabrication equipment, including cutting, bending, and/or shaping machinery.
- Reads and interprets bar lists, bending schedules, and production tickets.
- Enters, verifies, and adjusts machine programs and production dimensions as required.
- Sets up machines and verifies proper tooling, measurements, and machine settings before production.
- Inspects finished rebar for proper length, bend angle, shape, and overall quality.
- Uses tape measures and other measuring equipment to verify specifications.
- Identifies and corrects basic machine or programming issues and notify maintenance or supervision when additional repairs are required.
- Maintains accurate production counts and complete required production paperwork or electronic records.
- Loads, unloads, stages, and organizes rebar safely using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Performs routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Follows all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Communicates production issues, material shortages, equipment problems, and quality concerns to supervision.
- Meets established production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Maintains safe operating practices and consistently meets production requirements.
- Produces accurate, specification-compliant rebar.
- Minimizes material waste and machine downtime.
- Maintains accurate production records.
- Properly operates and cares for assigned equipment.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors, machine operators, material handlers, and other production personnel.
- Attends team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Other assignments and duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Reads and understands bar lists and production specifications.
- Understanding of measurements, dimensions, angles, and tolerances.
- Use of basic measuring tools accurately.
- Troubleshoots mechanical aptitude and equipment issues.
- Works independently and as part of a production team.
- Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Safely lift, move, and handle steel materials and work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
- Works scheduled hours, including overtime when required.
Education/Experience
1–2 years of CNC, machine operation, rebar fabrication, steel fabrication, or related manufacturing experience preferred. Equivalent mechanical or industrial experience may be considered Forklift, overhead crane, or material-handling experience, preferred.
- Mechanical, welding, machining, or industrial manufacturing experience.
- Experience with rebar fabrication software or CNC programming systems.
- Experience in a reinforcing steel fabrication facility.
- Experience with construction, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or transportation industries.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of walking and working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
- Frequently bend, reach, climb, and work around industrial equipment.
- Lift and move materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, steel materials, and varying temperatures.
- The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50 pound loads at a time.
- Must be able to work in various types of weather.
