About the Role:
MERJ Fleet Services Inc is looking for a skilled and dependable Second Shift Diesel Road Service Technician to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This is a hands-on, mobile role where you'll keep commercial fleets running strong — out on the road, solving problems, and delivering expert diesel repairs when it matters most. Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for commercial vehicles
- Respond to road service calls and breakdowns during second shift hours
- Troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty truck systems including brakes, electrical, drivetrain, and suspension
- Conduct preventive maintenance services on diesel-powered fleet vehicles
- Document all work orders, parts used, and service records accurately
- Communicate repair status and findings clearly to dispatch and customers
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe, working condition
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical, and brake systems
- Ability to work independently in a road service / mobile repair environment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus
- Own tools required; specialty tools provided
- Availability to work second shift hours consistently
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious work ethic
