Headquartered in Buffalo, NY, Hanes Supply has six other branches in the United States.

Position Summary:Manages the nylon sling fabrication department in Buffalo and manages the work delegated to Albany and Rochester departments. Operates machines to complete customer orders efficiently amongst industrial standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instructions in performance of job duties.

– Purchases all materials required to sew and ensures order is scheduled in time to meet customer demands.

– Receives orders and determines which location will be assigned the sewing project.

– Resolves issues with employees, products, procedures in a timely and effective manner.

– Trains new employees and retrains other employees when required.

– Travels to other locations as needed; handles complicated work orders in the Buffalo location.

– Measures, cuts and sews nylon and synthetic materials to work order and customer specifications in a safe and efficient manner including special orders; follows ISO procedures to ensure best quality is produced.

– Assembles slings to work order and customer requirements and specifications.

– Evaluates and inspects the quality of finished products to specifications for self and other Associates when necessary.

– Records work completion of all work orders processed.

– Monitors machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.

– Performs equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, sanding rough areas of needles, or cleaning and oiling sewing machines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

– Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

– Prior machine operating experience in a production environment is highly desired.

– Must be able to work in a fast-paced team setting meeting strict deadlines.

– Must be able to read instructions, evaluate numbers, fractions and measuring requirements.

– Must be able to make accurate measurements for customer needs.

_Ā Level of Education and Experience:_

– High School diploma or equivalency is required.

– Prior experience in manufacturing and machine operation and exposure to quality systems is required.

Frequency

– Occasional:Ā lifting and carrying 20 to 50 lbs., lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs., lifting and carrying 50 to 100 lbs. (with assistance), climbing stairs and climbing ladders, reaching above shoulders

– Frequent:Ā standing and walking, pushing and pulling, bending and twisting at the waist, handling and grasping,

– Constant:Ā sitting, carrying less than 25 lbs., repetitive use of hands and arms.
