This position is based at our Deep Eddy Vodka production facility in Buda, TX. Schedule for this position is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, working a 12 (twelve) hour overnight shift, 5:30pm-6:00am.

What the Role Is

The Lead Production Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the line runs smoothly and continues to run during operating hours. This position will ensure the overall quality of the bottling process and end product, which includes visually inspecting product and making repairs as necessary. The Team Lead gives work direction to other team members and makes operating decisions in concert with the Bottling Supervisor.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Assign work directions to team members on the line.
  • Assists Bottling Supervisor with operating decisions.
  • Steps in to perform all positions on the line as required.
  • Trains new employees in line positions.
  • Oversee the Line to which the operator is assigned.
  • Leads team assigned to the Line to ensure quality bottling process.
  • Completes bottling summaries at the end of the shift
  • Collaborates with the Bottling Line Supervisor on any deficiencies on the Line
  • Inspect bottles to ensure quality of packaging as bottles proceed through bottling line.
  • Clean bottling lines throughout production and post production.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure packaging meets quality standards.
  • Examine all items on bottles for component accuracy.
  • Organize work area using 5S techniques which include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, cataloging and maintaining the area.
  • Transfer cases weighing up to 50 pounds to keep production moving. 
  • Assemble knockdown cases as needed.
  • Operate manual or electric pallet jacks to disperse components and finished goods throughout work area.
  • Discard outdated or defective product.
  • Utilize compactors to bail cardboard.
  • Perform additional requests provided by Supervisor to guarantee efficiency.
  • Champion positive communication, strong collaboration, and teamwork while actively modeling the core values of the Spirited Commitment.

Who You Are…

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a line or assembly operator capacity
  • Knowledge of and ability to do all positions on the line.
  • Deep knowledge of how the line runs and ability to assist with operating decisions.
  • Keen eye for product and package quality requirements. 
  • Willingness and ability to work within the constructs of a team
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with team members and Supervisor

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous forklift experience in a warehouse environment
  • If internal, 1 year of Bottling Line experience with Deep Eddy

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of the job, the employee is required to:

  • Stand; climb stairs; walk; bend; kneel; squat; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms.  

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts on feet while bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling and lifting cases up to 50 pounds.
