Description

Position Summary 


The Project Estimator plays a key role in STARC's sales process by preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for custom and complex projects. Working closely with the sales team and channel partners, this role bridges the gap between customer needs and STARC's manufacturing capabilities — translating specifications, floor plans, and project requirements into detailed estimates that drive revenue and support a best-in-class customer experience. The Project Estimator is a key contributor to the sales organization's ability to respond quickly, price competitively, and close business. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quoting & Order Management: 
  • Produce accurate and timely quotes tailored to customer needs and project specifications. 
  • Manage the full quote lifecycle from initial request through revision, approval, and order conversion. 
  • Interpret floor plans, space planning documents, and customer specifications to develop accurate project estimates. 
  • Apply product knowledge and pricing tools to build competitive, margin-conscious quotes. 
  • Process orders accurately and maintain clean, up-to-date records within the CRM platform. 
  • Obtain shipping quotes, coordinate shipping dates, and collaborate internally to troubleshoot shipment issues. 
  • Track open quotes and follow up proactively to support conversion and close rates. 
  • Identify and escalate pricing exceptions, non-standard requests, or complex configurations to the appropriate team members. 
  • Maintain superior product and process knowledge to ensure quoting accuracy and consistency. 
  • Includes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs. 


Sales & Channel Partner Support: 

  • Provide outstanding support to the sales team, serving as a reliable resource for quoting expertise and deep product knowledge. 
  • Support channel partners and dealers with quote requests, order entry, and account setup. 
  • Create and maintain vendor accounts; manage the administrative needs of channel partners. 
  • Coordinate the needs of customers, sales, manufacturing, and finance to ensure order success from quote to delivery. 
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and responsive point of contact for customers and internal partners throughout the order lifecycle. 
  • Assist the sales team in preparing proposals, bid responses, and customer-facing project documentation. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and reps to support satisfaction and repeat business. 
  • Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission. 


Requirements

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of relevant education and experience considered. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a quoting, estimating, sales operations, or customer-facing coordination role. 
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM required; proven ability to learn new platforms quickly. 
  • Experience reading floor plans, space planning documents, or technical drawings; or demonstrated ability to learn. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills; experience with order management or ERP systems a plus. 
  • Familiarity with pricing tools, product configurators, or similar quoting software a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional and confident with both internal teams and external customers.

  • Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and floor plans. 
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator; works seamlessly across sales, manufacturing, and finance to drive outcomes. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Hourly Pay Range: $28.00-$32.00 per hour 


This role is eligible for a quarterly commission based on performance. 


Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at STARC Systems
