Yard Helper

Overview

The Yard Helper is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in oil and gas field maintenance per Foreman instructions. 

• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on equipment. 

• Conduct major and minor equipment repairs and report spills and leaks. 

• Perform general housekeeping duties. 

• Understand pipe sizing and accurately count pipe. 

• Safely operate a forklift. 

• Follow, plan, and schedule daily activities as directed by the Supervisor. 

• Load and unload service trucks and trash bins safely. 

• Apply working knowledge of oil & gas repair policies and safe work practices. 

• Troubleshoot and repair basic production equipment. 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Oil & Gas Maintenance experience required. 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 

• Working knowledge of oil & gas maintenance processes. 

• Oil and gas production operations experience preferred (training available for acceptable candidates). 

• Ability to work overtime, holidays, and be available for call-outs as required. 

• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record. 

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 

• Understanding of environmental and safe work practices. 

• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs occasionally, 25-50 lbs frequently, and 10-20 lbs constantly. 

• Ability to work at heights above six feet and balance on uneven surfaces. 

• Physical capability for stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, and reaching. 

• Must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
