The Sanitation Lead Technician is responsible for the cleanliness of all plant and production equipment, while complying with food safety and GMP requirements.


Essential duties

  • Performs all sanitation tasks on production and industrial equipment
  • Following cleaning protocols, performs the necessary activities to break down, clean and put together production equipment, following equipment manufacturer and operational standards.
  • Understands, follows, and documents sanitation standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment.
  • Performs equipment changeovers and sanitation activities.
  • Performs other general cleaning responsibilities and completion of duties outlined in the master sanitation schedule as assigned
  • Understands equipment in order to request any work orders necessary to prevent mechanical issues. Ensures equipment lubrication is completed according to specifications and in a timely manner to maximize performance of plant equipment.
  • Trains other team members on technical skills and proper sanitation procedures of production/industrial equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing sanitation is required. Must understand Sanitation of highly complex manufacturing (commercial bakery) equipment
  • Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Able to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions
  • Able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback

Physical requirements of the job include the ability to:

  • Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the use of both arms and both hands with full range of motion
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, twist, push and pull on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb as needed
  • Must be able to reach overhead and away from the body
  • Must be able to walk and stand for at least 90% of the time

 

Position Information:

Reports to: Sanitation Manager

Position Closing Date: 09/25/2026

Pay: $24 to $25
Shift Schedule: Sat and Sun 11am to 11pm and Weekdays 3pm to 11.30pm


Compensation is based on level of experience and other requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
