Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)—Northbrook Animal Hospital

Northbrook Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our three-doctor team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys a combination of outpatient care, surgery, and dentistry and wants to take ownership of our surgical workflow.

Our newly renovated hospital is investing in updated equipment, including a new dental scaling machine and dental table, ultrasound, and patient monitoring equipment, as we work toward AAHA accreditation. We are looking for a technician who wants to contribute to high-quality medicine and grow with a hospital that is continuing to advance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
    · Taking ownership of surgical patients from preparation through recovery
    · Performing anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery
    · Assisting with surgical and dental procedures and maintaining aseptic technique
    · Performing dental cleanings and dental radiographs
    · Monitoring hospitalized and procedural patients and communicating changes to the veterinary team
    · Providing compassionate, low-stress patient care
    · Maintaining accurate medical and anesthesia records
    · Communicating treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients
    · Supporting equipment readiness, inventory, and hospital quality improvement initiatives

Schedule and compensation:

  • $25–$30 per hour, for each hour worked
  • Full-time or part-time, Monday–Friday, with 4/10s and 1 rotating Saturday shift per month

Minimum qualifications:

  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing in Minnesota**
  • Strong experience in surgery and anesthesia
  • Dental experience, including prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Strong patient care, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the veterinary team
  • Commitment to continued learning and high-quality patient care

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply.
