We are looking for a welder/fabricator to work on-site at our Asphalt plant in Bridgeton, MO.  This role will be responsible for welding, fabricating, repairing, and modifying equipment within our asphalt plant. This position requires strong welding skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced shop and field environment.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding as required for various materials and applications.
  • Fabricate, repair, and modify steel and other metal components for construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and shop needs.
  • Repair damaged or worn equipment components and structural parts.
  • Cut, shape, bend, drill, grind, and fit metal components using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, welders, grinders, saws, drill presses, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality, strength, and accuracy.
  • Work with mechanics and equipment operators to diagnose equipment problems and develop effective repairs.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper welding and equipment procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate records of repairs, parts, and materials used.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, mechanics, operators, and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a welder, fabricator, or in a similar heavy-equipment repair environment preferred.
  • Experience welding and fabricating heavy steel components strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MIG and stick welding.
  • Ability to read basic fabrication drawings, measurements, and welding symbols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Welding certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around heavy equipment, trucks, machinery, welding fumes, heat, dust, and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
