As a Trade Compliance Intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into US import and export trade compliance regulations and related process management at Hussmann.Â
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations that will help you understand how global trade compliance impacts business from a legal and operational standpoint.Â
- Brainstorm and utilize Excel and IT skills to assist the team in developing additional processes across the compliance organization to meet global compliance regulations and improve efficiency.Â
- Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.Â
- Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.Â
- Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.Â
- Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.Â

Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation. Â
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree Â
- Minimum 3.0 GPA Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Â
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsÂ
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization  Â
- Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail  Â
- Highly motivated and eager to learn  Â
- Strong computer skills  Â
- Ability to relocate, if not local Â

The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student. Â
