Janitor

Summary

Keep the building and grounds in clean and orderly condition by performing daily duties, including removal of trash, machine turnings, and facility waste. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Care of all company property.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms, breakrooms, outdoor break areas and offices as required. 
• Gather and empty trash. 
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Oversee the storage and maintenance of the custodial inventory and equipment.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment. 
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Label containers properly.
• Miscellaneous duties; pressure washes trash cans, paints aisle lines, paints shop entry including restrooms, offices, and around front computer area, clears snow and salt front sidewalk and between buildings.
• Assume responsibility, with the maintenance leadership, for the completion of other special work and duties related to the maintenance of company facilities.
• Assume responsibility for tasks as assigned by leadership. 
• Run maintenance equipment including, but not limited to: forklift, walk behind scrubber, large sweeper, gas powered scrubber, or lawn mower.
• Is a productive member of his/her workgroup and adheres to all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures and maintaining a clean organized work area, to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees.
• May be asked to assist maintenance techs.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or twist and move throughout the facility. 
• The employee is required to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. 
• The duties of this job require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. 
• The duties of this job require ascending and descending ladders and steps.
