Job Overview

Hotel Commonwealth's unique identity in Boston's hospitality market provides a compelling story for every sales and marketing professional on the team. To maximize revenue, profit, and market share associated with rooms and function space for each property. Manages the processes associated with demand, revenue, opportunity analysis, and inventory management. Every contribution in this role helps Hotel Commonwealth remain Boston's most beloved independent hotel.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the management of Premium Branded hotels in monitoring and analyzing demand data so that strategic daily selling strategies can be implemented to consistently drive REVPAR.
  • Monitor daily flash reports and make recommendations and provide support to the staff as necessary.
  • Create and analyze competitive hotel information to assist in proper decision making. Ensure updated information exists in all channels, i.e. Reservation systems, internet, GDS, etc.
  • Identifying revenue problems and opportunities with sufficient lead time to positively impact revenues.
  • Consistently taking a strategic approach for each hotel, finding new ways to effectively generate revenues.
  • Deals effectively with people, fostering teamwork, and leading by example.
  • Effectively manages time and processes to ensure attention to detail while achieving deadlines in work flows.
  • Continually seeks improvement in revenue management practices.
  • Provide Displacement Analysis solutions as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
  • Supervision of Reservation department.

Qualifications

 

Education/Formal Training

  • Four year degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in hotel front office, group reservations, analyst, reservations, or similar capacity. Branded operations experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent personal management skills; time management, meeting deadlines, effective communication and presentations skills.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel including formulas, sorting and filtering of data, and creating tables.
  • Ability to understand processes including creation and accountability via audits of systems.
