Job Summary

Provides essential support to radiology technologists and radiologists to help ensure efficient imaging operations and a safe, comfortable experience for patients. Assists with patient preparation and positioning, equipment and supply readiness, image management, patient transport, and departmental documentation.

Essential Functions
-Welcome and prepare patients for imaging procedures, providing clear information about what to expect and addressing questions within scope of the role.
-Assist patients with positioning and preparation to support safe, high-quality imaging.
-Prepare and organize imaging rooms, equipment, and necessary supplies prior to procedures.
-Support radiology technologists with image processing, including labeling, organizing, and transferring digital images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
-Assist with the safe transport of patients to and from the radiology department.
-Monitor and maintain departmental supplies, including gowns, contrast-related materials, and other necessary items.
-Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient procedures, supporting medical record and billing requirements.
-Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and team members.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience

  • Experience in a hospital, managed care, or radiology setting preferred.

  • 0–1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures or the ability to learn on the job.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and members of the radiology team.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and accurate documentation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing a positive patient experience.

  • Ability to assist with patient movement and positioning, including lifting and transferring patients as needed.

  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods during procedures.
