Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Counts moneys from the Slots Operations drop boxes. Counts money from Bill Validators (slot) machines and SST’s.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Sorts, counts, and records contents of bill changers and currency drop boxes, according to set procedures. Â
- Compares information contained in drop boxes to data stored on computer terminal. Â
- Responsible for daily reports, minor repairs and maintenance of soft count equipment. Â
- Performs duties as assigned, always presenting oneself as a credit to Louisiana Downs and encourages others to do the same. Â
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Requirements
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Â
- Previous money-handling experience is preferred. Â
- Must be able to work graveyard, any day of the week.  Â
- Adding machine, computer terminal operation, and currency counting machine skills helpful. Â
- Basic mechanical (repair) ability preferred.Â
- Prior count room or money handling experience (casino or bank) is preferred. Â
- Must be able to work all shifts. Â
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Â
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Â
DEMANDS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICAL & MENTAL:
- Must be able to push, pull carts and carry up to 75 pounds of boxes filled with currency. Â
- Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch and pick-up money dropped on floor. Â
- Must be able to grip objects and have good finger movement when counting and handling currency. Â
- Must be able to differentiate denominations of chips and authenticity of currency. Â
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Â
- Must be able to operate a computer, ten key adding machine and money counter. Â
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to maneuver in and around all count rooms. Â
- Ability to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Ability to work at a fast pace in mentally and physically stressful situations.
