Responsibilities

TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians.  The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services.  The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents.  The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement.  Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal.  Delivering the right care at the right time in the right setting is the core mission of a critical access hospital.  We are committed to improve the quality of care we deliver every day.  TMC Bonham is managed by Texoma Medical Center, subsidiary of UHS.

The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Qualifications

Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, assumes direction of participation in special projects as needed. Coordinates hospital-wide compliance with state and federal regulations. Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Give input into developing the budget. Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and facilitates coordination with other departments. Monitor patient care for compliance with established standards. Coordinate hospital-wide compliance with state and federal regulations. Develop and implement facility-wide infection prevention and control measures to protect patients, staff and visitors elative to antimicrobial stewardship, product evaluation, business planning, and development of surveillance and prevention systems for non-infectious events. Monitor patient care for compliance with established standards and investigates known or suspected sources of infections to determine the source and ensure control. Resolve escalated issues arising from operations in cooperation with applicable departments. Provide applicable reporting metrics relative to infection control and prevention. Identify, prevent and control outbreaks of communicable diseases. collect, analyze and interpret data related to infectious diseases and report when necessary to local, state and federal authorities, as well as to internal committees. Educate staff on infection control measures including infection control policies, procedures, following state and federal guidelines with regard to surveillance and reporting. Leading, executing, implementing, analyzing, reporting, and evaluating targeted patient experience improvement initiatives; participating in the development and implementation of projects related to system-wide patient/guest experience initiatives; collaborating with and instructing leadership, physicians, department directors/managers, and staff to implement strategies ensuring optimal patient experience outcomes; evaluating, and participating in the resolution of complaints to identify and mitigate barriers at the point of care; participating in the development of programs and services that address specific aspects of the patient experience.

 

 Job Requirements:

  • Current LVN/RN licensure in the State of Texas. BSN preferred.
  • Five years clinical nursing experience.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills (keyboarding and Microsoft Office).
  • Possess the ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Customer service focused.
