We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team as a Float Phlebotomist. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to seamlessly provide coverage across multiple clinic locations. This position requires someone who can quickly adjust to changing schedules, clinic environments, patient populations, and daily demands.
Pediatric experience is preferred, as this position will provide coverage for pediatric clinics. Candidates should also be comfortable drawing all types of patients, as you will work across a variety of clinic settings.
Pay: Starting at $18 per hour, with flexibility based on experience, plus mileage reimbursement and applicable pay differentials.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 40 guaranteed hours per week. Daily hours and clinic locations will vary based on coverage needs. Flexibility in schedule is required.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service to patients and families, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.
- Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients.
- Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.
- Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
- Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance activities.
- Flexibility: Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow.

Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience required
- Pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred
- Point-of-care testing (POCT) experience preferred
Licensing & Testing Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required, as the position will travel between locations based on coverage needs
- Must be able to distinguish colors and successfully pass a vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations.

Physical Requirements:Â
- Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
- High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
- Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
- Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.
OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
