The Opportunity

To support our continued growth, VMG is seeking a skilled and dependable Manufacturing Worker to join our team.

This hands-on role is responsible for fabricating, building, and assembling HVAC sheet metal and ductwork in a production environment. The Manufacturing Worker ensures materials are produced accurately, safely, and efficiently before being delivered to commercial construction sites.

The ideal candidate has sheet metal fabrication experience, strong measuring skills, and the ability to read blueprints and meet production deadlines without sacrificing quality.

What You'll Do

Sheet Metal Fabrication & Assembly

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ductwork orders

  • Select appropriate materials based on job specifications and structural requirements

  • Measure, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal to precise dimensions

  • Fabricate HVAC ductwork and related components according to approved specifications

  • Weld, rivet, roll, solder, screw, or otherwise fasten seams using approved methods

  • Complete production tasks such as punching holes, bending gutters, and preparing duct sections

Equipment & Production Operations

  • Safely operate sheet metal fabrication machinery, tools, and related software

  • Follow production schedules and meet established output expectations

  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications

  • Coordinate equipment shutdowns and startups with other departments when required

  • Identify equipment or production concerns and report them promptly

  • Maintain accurate records for completed projects, production activities, and repairs

Safety & Shop Organization

  • Follow all company safety policies and established production procedures

  • Use required personal protective equipment

  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of avoidable hazards

  • Perform additional production and shop duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Previous sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, or related production experience

  • Ability to complete fabrication work accurately and efficiently

  • Experience safely operating sheet metal tools, machinery, and equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fabrication drawings

  • Strong measuring, organization, and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

  • Basic knowledge of the following is preferred:

    • HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair practices

    • HVAC tools, equipment, and mechanical systems

    • Electrical and control systems related to HVAC

  • Ability to work safely on ladders and at heights

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. regularly

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently

  • Ability to lift and move more than 75 lbs. occasionally with assistance

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the shift

  • Ability to work safely in an active fabrication and production environment
