Job DetailsJob Location: AutoGate Inc - Berlin Heights, OH 44814Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: First ShiftJob Category: ManufacturingMaterials Coordinator Department: Operations Support Reports To: Operations Support Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary- The Materials Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and efficient daily flow of materials throughout both facilities, with primary ownership of Receiving and support responsibilities across Inventory Control, Shipping, and production material movement. This hands-on position works closely with the Inventory Control Specialist and serves as a key resource for daily material and ERP transactions, inventory accuracy, discrepancy resolution, and material-related problem solving. The Materials Coordinator is expected to independently research and resolve routine issues and escalate significant or systemic concerns when appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receiving: Own the daily Receiving process, ensuring incoming materials are received accurately and timely. Safely unload incoming freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. Verify purchase orders, packing lists, quantities, part numbers, material descriptions, and required documentation. Inspect incoming shipments for damage and perform designated quality inspections. Identify, document, communicate, and assist in resolving receiving discrepancies. Accurately receive materials into Epicor Kinetic and ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and placed in appropriate inventory locations. Process and distribute UPS/FedEx and other parcel deliveries. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient Receiving area. Follow established Receiving Work Instructions, Flow Charts, and company procedures. Epicor Kinetic & Inventory: Maintain a strong working knowledge of Epicor Kinetic as it relates to Receiving, Inventory, Material Handling, Shipping, and production material transactions. Accurately process receiving, inventory transfers, material movements, job-related transactions, and other assigned transactions. Research and resolve routine transactions and inventory discrepancies, including incorrect, incomplete, or missing transactions. Serve as a first point of troubleshooting for routine material-related Epicor issues. Conduct cycle counts and assist with researching count discrepancies. Ensure physical material locations and quantities align with ERP inventory records. Assist with picking, transferring, staging, and closing jobs as assigned. Identify low inventory quantities or material concerns and communicate them to Purchasing and Inventory Control. Escalate significant inventory variances, systemic ERP issues, or higher-level inventory concerns to the Inventory Control Specialist.   Production & Shipping Support: Move and stage materials between Receiving, inventory locations, production work centers, and Shipping. Gather and stage materials according to job travelers and complete required ERP transactions. Assist with material shortages, location questions, and routine production material issues. Provide Shipping support as operational needs require, including preparing, packaging, staging, and loading outgoing shipments. Verify quantities, part numbers, documentation, and required ERP transactions for outgoing material. Assist with UPS/FedEx, customer parts orders, and freight during high-volume periods or employee absences.   Problem Solving & Process Support Independently research routine material, inventory, receiving, and ERP issues before escalating. Work with Inventory Control, Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Operations Support to resolve material-related problems. Identify recurring errors and help determine root causes and corrective actions. Recommend practical improvements to material flow, inventory accuracy, and ERP processes. Assist with training and reinforcing established material and ERP procedures. Prioritize responsibilities effectively in a changing manufacturing environment. Other duties may be assigned based on operational needs.   Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Materials Coordinator may provide process guidance and assist with training but does not have authority for employee scheduling, discipline, performance management, or other supervisory functions.  QualificationsEducation and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, materials, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or a similar environment preferred. Experience with ERP/MRP systems is strongly preferred. Epicor Kinetic experience is highly desirable. Preferred experience includes receiving, inventory control, material movement, ERP transactions, cycle counting, shipping, manufacturing job transactions, and discrepancy resolution.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong computer skills and ability to learn and navigate ERP/MRP systems. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to understand the relationship between physical material movement and ERP inventory transactions. Ability to independently research issues and determine appropriate next steps. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing lists, job travelers, shipping/receiving documents, and work instructions. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment. Ability and willingness to work both at a computer and hands-on within production and warehouse environments.   Physical Requirements / Work Environment: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle materials and equipment, reach, talk, and hear and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The position requires regular work within manufacturing, warehouse, Receiving, and Shipping environments and may involve exposure to moving equipment, airborne particles, varying temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, and normal manufacturing noise levels. Expectations: Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow issues through to resolution. Demonstrate initiative and independently investigate problems before escalating. Maintain a high level of accuracy in ERP and inventory transactions. Communicate problems promptly and effectively. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Work cooperatively across departments and adapt priorities as operational needs change. Identify opportunities to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, and ERP processes.
