The Clinic Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and providers. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming environment while managing front-desk operations, patient registration, appointment scheduling, phone communications, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, taking messages as appropriate.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Register new and returning patients and update demographic information.
- Verify insurance information and obtain required documentation.
- Collect co-payments, outstanding balances, and other applicable fees.
- Check patients in and out of appointments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain patient records and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Assist providers and clinic staff with administrative and clerical tasks.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, faxes, and electronic communications.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Support a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service and patient relations skills.
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
