Oversee all Non-BOM component ordering activities including parts for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment repairs, and new installations of equipment. Monitor all parts inventories and maintain proper levels to promote cost reductions. Maintain proper levels using a parts data base system.

 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.

  • Purchase & receive inventory and non-inventory parts.
  • Inspect stock and store incoming components and equipment.
  • Issue equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork.
  • Maintain parts room.
  • Cross-reference Branded & Private Label components to standardize parts.
  • Input new components and remove obsolete components in parts database as required.
  • Manage parts disposition as required.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform semi-annual inventory audits.
  • Perform cycle counts on critical components.
  • Support production equipment as necessary.
  • Performs special projects as necessary
  • Negotiate with vendors for best pricing structures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 EXPERIENCE

  • Maintenance experience or experience in a parts room environment.

 EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
SKILLS
  • Strong math skills.
  • Read, write, and fluently speak English
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and communicational skills.
  • Read and interpret PO's, invoices, and company policies
  • Certified to operate a forklift
  • Operate two-way radio
  • Use computer software programs

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Know and apply different country purchasing procedures
  • AS400

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

  • Reports to: Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Act in a consulting capacity to management, engineering, and other departments requiring technical guidance.
  • External: Work with vendors, contractors, and consultants as required. May guide and coordinate the procurement of prototype tooling and other support material and equipment.
