About the Role
The Public Space Attendant – Afternoon Shift is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of public areas throughout Shanty Creek Resorts during the afternoon and evening hours. This position plays an important role in keeping high-traffic guest areas clean, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the day.
The Public Space Attendant responds to changing cleaning needs, maintains common areas during periods of increased guest activity, addresses spills or other immediate concerns, and supports the overall appearance of the resort as operations transition into the evening.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and maintain public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, entrances, stairwells, and other common spaces.
Monitor high-traffic areas throughout the afternoon and evening and provide cleaning support as needed.
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including trash removal, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and surface sanitization.
Clean, stock, and maintain public restrooms throughout the shift.
Respond promptly to spills, debris, or other conditions requiring immediate attention.
Maintain entrances, gathering areas, and other guest-facing spaces during periods of increased activity.
Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
Assist with maintaining public areas following meetings, events, or periods of heavy guest use.
Identify and report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or potential safety hazards.
Assist guests with questions and provide directions or general resort information when needed.
Maintain cleaning supplies and notify leadership when additional supplies are needed.
Follow established procedures for the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Follow all resort safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
Work collaboratively with Housekeeping and other resort departments to support overall guest service.
Complete additional cleaning or housekeeping responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to provide friendly and professional guest service.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and welcoming guest areas.
Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with cleaning and maintaining public spaces.
Availability to work afternoon and evening hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous housekeeping, custodial, cleaning, or hospitality experience.
Previous experience working in a hotel, resort, or tourism environment.
First Aid or CPR certification.
