Here's what you can expect:  Competitive salary 401(k) with 6% company match Health and vision insurance  Company paid dental insurance Company paid AD&D and life insurance  Paid time off with rollover hours Job Summary Pico Propane and Fuels, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company in Beaumont, TX, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for the local delivery and service activity for the plant. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the propane distribution plant, including industrial service accounts and standby generator support. The primary objective is to ensure that all aspects of the plant's operations are running efficiently, effectively, and safely. The Operations Manager will manage delivery and service schedules, oversee inventory control, maintain the fleet, ensure plant safety, and comply with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and growth of the propane plant, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day operations of propane distribution and storage • Ensure efficient and timely delivery of propane to customers • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock • Ensure all operations comply with company, local, state, and federal regulations regarding propane handling and storage • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of employees and customers • Conduct regular safety inspections • Assist with hiring, supervising, and managing a team of delivery drivers, technicians, and support staff • Fill in for delivery drivers or service technicians as needed to ensure continuity of operations • Provide training and development opportunities for staff to improve their skills and knowledge • Maintain high standards of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction • Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers • Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands • Assist with fleet maintenance and routine vehicle inspections to support safe and reliable delivery operations • Assist with service and maintenance for industrial accounts and standby generator equipment, coordinating with technicians and outside contractors as needed The absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: Proven leadership with the ability to build, coach, and manage a team of drivers, technicians, and support staff Strong understanding of industrial service operations, plant safety, and regulatory compliance Ability to plan and coordinate delivery, service, and maintenance schedules to meet operational and customer demands Strong customer service skills, including the ability to resolve complaints and maintain client relationships Proficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite Education, Certification, Licenses Required: An associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED with five to ten years relatable experience in industrial service and/or energy industry; propane experience strongly preferred Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record CDL A or B with hazmat and tanker endorsements LP Delivery and LP Service and Installation certification through the TRRC (preferred, or with the ability to obtain) TWIC card (preferred but not required) Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 - 80 pounds Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch Ability to work in and around industrial facilities and jobsites as needed Must pass pre-employment screening and background check Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider Position will require working evening hours and weekends as needed including weather and emergency events The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work that is expected to be performed.
