Real Estate Closing Paralegal
Melville, NY | Full-Time | In-Person | $50,000 – $60,000
About the Role:
We are seeking a Real Estate Closing Paralegal to support residential real estate transactions and bank closings. This is a client-facing, high-volume role at the center of every deal, working directly alongside the attorney in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment.
Responsibilities:
Transaction Management
- Assist with residential transactions from contract through closing
- Manage a portfolio of active files simultaneously and drive each one to the table
- Prepare files and closing packages for scheduled closings
Documentation and Requirements
- Order and review title reports, surveys, payoffs, and municipal searches
- Clear title objections and satisfy lender and bank closing requirements
- Prepare, collect, and review closing documentation
- Assist with closing statement preparation and fee balancing
Communication and Coordination
- Coordinate daily with buyers, sellers, lenders, banks, real estate agents, title companies, and opposing attorneys
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients and outside parties
- Schedule closings and confirm all parties are prepared
Closing and Post-Closing
- Assist with closings and handle day-of coordination
- Manage disbursement documentation and recording follow-up
- Collect trailing documents and complete file wrap-up
Qualifications:
Required:
- Prior real estate, title, mortgage, or bank closing experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions under deadline
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Personable and responsive, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Familiarity with New York residential closing practice and the attorney-driven closing process
- Working knowledge of TRID timelines, Closing Disclosures, and lender closing instructions
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent formal training
- Title production or closing software experience
