Job Title

Production Supervisor/Team Leader (Austin, MN)

Job Purpose

Ā Trains and manages a team of 15+ production workers on food manufacturing plant processes. Motivates a team to attain production and quality goals and supports continuous improvement processes. Team leaders are usually ā€œon their feetā€ in the production area about 80% of their shift. Typically start on 2nd or 3rd shift. Extended hours may be needed, including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Leads team members by managing and executing plant processes.
  • Manages team members in attaining production and quality goals.
  • Ensures appropriate resources (including materials, equipment, and staffing needs) are available to maintain production schedules.
  • Supports continuous improvement processes to ensure that goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service are met.
  • Creates and maintains an engaged and team-oriented work force to improve business results.

Required Qualifications

  • Must graduate between December 2026 and May 2027 with Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa

  • Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)Ā

  • This is a full-time, salaried position.

  • Most Team LeadersĀ begin their careers on 2nd or 3rd shift.

  • This is an on-site position based out of our production facility in Austin, MN- Hormel Foods’ Flagship Facility.Ā

Compensation/Benefits

  • Competitive base pay of $71,240.00

Training

  • Approximately six weeks are spent in a hands-on training environment before being assigned to a department.
  • Team Leaders attendĀ a virtual Inspired Hires orientation. This will include presentations by different divisions to increase product knowledge, company knowledge, and leadership skills.
  • 6-month operational training program while on the job.
  • This team leader will start on 1st shift for training; but will be moved to 2nd after training is completed.Ā
