The Floor Care Supervisor leads floor care operations, supervises technicians, ensures quality standards, safety compliance, equipment readiness, employee development, and customer satisfaction.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead Floor Care Technicians and assigned custodial staff.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and periodic floor care projects.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on proper floor care procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
  • Oversee specialized floor maintenance services, including:
  • Floor stripping and refinishing
  • Waxing and sealing
  • Burnishing and buffing
  • Carpet extraction and cleaning
  • Tile and grout cleaning
  • Other hard floor maintenance services
  • Conduct routine quality inspections to ensure work meets company and client standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, SDS requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Monitor the condition, maintenance, and accountability of floor care equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and recommend replenishment as needed.
  • Complete required reports, work orders, inspections, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate professionally with customers to address service requests, concerns, and project updates.
  • Assist management with staffing, scheduling, and operational planning to meet service commitments.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position directly supervises Floor Care Technicians and assigned custodial staff. The Floor Care Supervisor will provide training, coaching, performance feedback & daily work direction. The Supervisor is responsible for promoting teamwork, accountability and adherence to company standards.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of commercial floor care experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial floor care equipment and maintenance techniques.
  • Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA guidelines, and workplace safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and changing temperatures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with commercial floor maintenance.
