Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assistparticipants with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Support participants with meal preparation, feedingassistance, and household tasks
  • Assistwith medications as trained and authorized
  • Maintainaccuratedocumentation including daily notes, medication records, incident reports, and participant progress notes
  • Encourage participant independence, choice, and community involvement
  • Transport participants to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive encouragement
  • Ensure participant safety andmaintaina clean, healthy, and supportive living environment
  • Follow Individual Support plans, behavioral support plans, and agency policies
  • Report changes in participant behavior, health, or safety concerns promptly
  • Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, families, guardians, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and continuing education
  • Assistduring emergency situations and follow emergency procedures when necessary
  • Promote participant rights, dignity, confidentiality, and person-centered care practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
  • Compassionate, patient, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, transfer, andassistparticipants as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical caregiving duties
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations

Work Environment

This position works within residential homes supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Residential services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, requiring professionalism, flexibility, compassion, and dependable attendanc
